A controlled trial (A Controlled Trial to Determine the Efficacy of Red and Near-Infrared Light Treatment in Patient Satisfaction, Reduction of Fine Lines, Wrinkles, Skin Roughness, and Intradermal Collagen Density Increase) exploring the impact of red and near-infrared light therapy revealed notable improvements in skin tone, texture, and collagen density. Out of 136 participants, 113 received treatments twice a week across 30 sessions. Using tools like clinical photography, ultrasound-based collagen assessments, and computerized digital profilometry, researchers documented a significant reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, along with enhanced skin smoothness and increased intradermal collagen levels. The findings strongly support red light therapy as an effective, non-invasive approach to improving skin health and appearance.

Additionally, a study titled Reverse skin aging signs by red light photobiomodulation  explored the effects of red LED therapy on facial skin. The research involved 20 healthy Caucasian women who underwent two sessions per week for three months using a red LED mask. The results demonstrated progressive improvements in skin firmness, elasticity, wrinkle depth, and overall complexion. The study concluded that photobiomodulation effectively reverses visible signs of aging, with benefits lasting up to one month after treatment cessation.
